I purchased a Transcend SATA external hard drive in 2007 and my new laptop runs Windows 7. The software disc which comes with the SATA says it's for 2000/XP/Vista only. Where can I get an upgrade for Windows 7? I have searched Software Informer and there is nothing. I am strictly a "dummy" when it comes to these things - all I want is a backup copy of my hard drive.

To download applications for your SATA drive, visit the official Download section from Transcend. Identify your drive then you will have the possibility to download the necessary software.
When I make a backup from the principal identity (including contacts and parameters and rules), I disconnect my Transcend 320GB and lose all contacts and parameters. Only mails remain. It's very fastidious. What should I do?

I recommend re-installing the software using the new version because this could be a bug in the application. The software was downloaded on my computer and it worked normally. No files were deleted without my permission. Re-install the software but use the default settings. Additionally, take a look at the SYNC operation. Turn it off while the backup process is going.
